Savvy Caregiver® Group Leader Training & Certification
In order to become a Savvy Caregiver group leader, you must first take the Savvy Caregiver® Evidence-Based Online Training for Group Leaders and then the Savvy Caregiver® Fidelity Certification Exam.
After taking the initial training group leaders can take training on additional Savvy Caregiver adaptations.
Savvy Caregiver is a nationally recognized, evidenced-based, and well researched dementia family caregiver training program. Savvy programs are designed to provide the most relevant dementia knowledge, skills, engaging content, and mastery to support family members as they provide care for their relative or friend living with dementia. Savvy Caregiver programs have been proven to decrease family caregiver distress, burden, and depression, while increasing caregivers’ sense of competence and confidence in their care role.
Organizations are also required to purchase licensing workshops to offer Savvy Caregiver programs and be in copyright compliance. To learn more about licensing workshops please visit the licensing section.
Savvy Group Leader
Online Training + Certification
In order to become a new Savvy Caregiver group leader, you must first be trained and certified in the Savvy Caregiver® Evidence-Based Online Training for Group Leaders. This self-paced online training program was developed at Emory University. The training provides access to the online training, fidelity certification exam, and 1 set of manuals for 1 user. Fidelity certification is good for 3-years at which time it will need to renewed.
Pricing is $1,499 per person.
Previous Savvy Group Leader Certification
If you were previously trained and have delivered Savvy Caregiver, you do not need get re-trained in Savvy. However, to be compliant, you do need to complete the self-paced online fidelity certification exam process. Once approved your fidelity certification is good for 3-years at which time it will need to be renewed.
Pricing is $299 per person.
Savvy Group Leader Recertification
To maintain compliance the Savvy Fidelity certification must be renewed every 3-years. To complete recertification completion of the self-paced online fidelity certification exam is required. Once approved your fidelity certification is good for an additional 3-years.

Are you interested in delivering additional versions of Savvy Caregiver? Once you are certified in Savvy Caregiver, you are eligible to get trained in the following Savvy Caregiver adaptations.
Advanced Group Leader
Zoom Training
Training for the Savvy Caregiver Advanced adaptation is completed over online video-based technology. Successful completion of the course requires access to a device with a functioning camera and participation during the training. The training is 4-hours long. Pricing is $599 per person.
Express Group Leader
Zoom Training
Training for the Savvy Caregiver Express adaptation is completed over online video-based technology. Successful completion of the course requires access to a device with a functioning camera and participation during the training. The training is 4-hours long. Pricing is $599 per person.
